Taan Forest is committed to protecting natural heritage and forest features in our operating areas. This is based on the management objectives of the Haida Gwaii Land Use Objectives Order (HGLUOO).
We would like to invite you to our community barbeque in Skidegate or Old Massett.
All Taan staff and contractors who could be fighting wildfire are required to have annual wildfire safety and suppression training.
This is an introductory role to forestry where you will be working in a team environment and exposed to several different aspects of forestry including silviculture & restoration work, cultural feature identification, and assist Taan Foresters and Engineers with day-to-day activities.
The Taan Area/Planning Forester is responsible for the day to day workloads of Taan’s Silviculture Crews and Forestry Assistants.
The construction of resource roads is to develop and protect local natural resources. Logging trucks and firefighting equipment must be able to use the roads without delay. If you choose to use resource roads for recreation access, please do so with care by following these safety tips.
