Continued Road Closures of Taan Forest Tenured Roads
Please be advised that the QC Main line continues to be closed including other “Back Road” access between Daajing Giids and Port Clements. Continued flooding of sections of the main line along the Yakoun River has made assessing the road and access impassible.
A slide at 27km on QC Main cannot be assessed or cleared due to continued high risk of land slides on the slopes above the road. This is a known area of landslides. With the amount of rainfall, risk of landslides has significantly increased making it unsafe for crews to assess. A flood across the main line at 35km on QC Main is impassible.
Crews will continue to assess the flooding at Golden Spruce Trail and at 35km on QC main to potentially have access between Daajing Giids and Port Clements via East Yakoun Main and Canyon Main once water levels drop.

PLEASE BE ADVISED - For the safety of everyone, all access to the back roads are currently CLOSED due to multiple slides and heavy flooding.
Multiple roads are blocked with logs and debris. We are working with MOT to get the roads opened up as it is safe to do so.
Please share this post.
Stay safe!
