Forest Practices Board General Audit – Taan Forest TFL 60 & A87661

Taan Forest welcomes the Forest Practices Board to Haida Gwaii to conduct a routine General Audit on Taan Operations relating to Provincial Legislation Requirements on TFL 60 and FLTC A87661 the week of September 20th to 24th.

The Forest Practices Board (FPB) is the public “Watchdog” of forest practices on provincial land in BC. Each year the FPB conduct random audits on licensee’s across the province and report out to the public how each licensee is performing by the end of the year or early the next year. Taan Forest has been chosen for an audit in 2021. This will be the first audit conducted by the FPB on Taan Forest.

"We are looking forward to the Board’s audit next week to demonstrate the great work our team and contractors have been doing on Haida Gwaii. We hope that our practices of stewardship directed by the Haida Nation can be mirrored in other areas of BC.”
- Jeff Mosher Chief Forester for Taan Forest
