Contract Opportunity: Booming RFP

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS

Work Opportunity: Taan Forest Limited Partnership is requesting proposals for the Booming phase of operations on Graham Island.

Location: Graham Island, Haida Gwaii.

 

SCOPE OF PROJECT

As booming contractor part of your responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Properly boom all logs as directed by and to the satisfaction of the Company at the booming ground specified by the Company
  • Contractor will submit to the Company all pertinent paper work in a timely manner as directed by the Company
  • Properly maintain all current and active booming grounds at contractors cost except for dredging, driving of piles and major repairs when considered by the Company as necessary
  • Contractor will submit to the Company a periodic accounting (as requested) of all booming gear supplied by the Company up to and including all boomsticks
  • Contractor is responsible for replacing & drilling boom-sticks in the standing boom or other permanent facilities

 

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Interested companies or organizations must include in their submission:

  • Cover Letter

  • Proposal related to above criteria

  • List of equipment to be used

  • $/m 3 rate for requested work

  • Safe Company Certification

  • Proof of Insurance

  • References

 

SUMMARY OF WORK AND CRITERIA

The evaluation for a successful contractor will be based on the following provision:

  • Local Employment = 35% (20% Haida Ancestry, 15% local Haida Gwaii)

  • Local ownership = 15%

  • Project capability = 25%

  • Experience = 15%

  • Past performance with Taan = 10%

 

TERM

Anticipated Start Date: May 31, 2019
